Where to Stay

- The Burgundy Hotel

Boutique Hotel with luxury charm, just a 15 minute drive from downtown

- The Capitol Hotel

Historic Hotel in the heart of downtown

- The Double Tree by Hilton

Modern comfort meets downtown access

Friday Night

Upon arrival, whether by plane at the conveniently located Bill & Hillary Clinton National Airport or by car, settle in at your chosen accommodation and treat yourself to a delicious dinner at one of Little Rock's culinary hotspots.

For dinner I recommend: The Pantry West! It’s open until 11, so even if you arrive on the later side, you’ll be able to enjoy its cozy European inspired dishes. I recommend the Pantry Pie which is similar to a Shepard’s pie, with the cheesecake for dessert!

Saturday

Start your day with a hearty breakfast and a steaming cup of coffee from Hillcrest Little Bakery, a breakfast place specializing in the ultimate southern comfort food: biscuits. Paired with fried chicken in a chicken biscuit or smothered with gravy, there’s a biscuit for everyone. They also have a fully stocked coffee bar complete with alternative milks and serving locally roasted coffee!

Once you are fueled, it’s time to delve into the city's history which has affected the nation.

Begin by touring the majestic Capitol Building, which is modeled after the US Capitol in Washington DC, then head to the Little Rock Visitor Center housed in the historic Curran Hall where friendly locals will tell you about the city. Refuel with lunch at Big Orange, a local restaurant that specializes in burgers and shakes (they have gluten free and vegan options…yes vegan shakes!). I recommend ordering the hickory smoke burger, with a pistachio white chocolate shake…oh and you have to try their truffle fries!!

Then, delve into the poignant story of integration at Central High School's museum. Continue your journey through history with a visit to the Clinton Presidential Library, then go on a ride on the fun, bright yellow downtown trolley. Cap off the day with a mouthwatering dinner at Samantha's Tap Room and Wood Grill! While you wait for your table, stop by one of the free, eclipse themed live concerts at the First Security Amphitheater located in Riverfront Park just steps away! And don’t forget to stop by the Little Rock that gave the city its name! It’s also located in the same park.

Sunday

I love attending local churches when I travel! You could attend a service at the historic and beautiful Cathedral of St. Andrew (the city’s oldest place of continuing worship) or the more modern  Hillcrest Community Church or Mosaic Church, which provide diverse and welcoming communities. Afterward, treat yourself to a leisurely Sunday brunch at Kemuri, a Southern-Japanese fusion restaurant, before immersing yourself in art and history at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts and the McArthur Museum of Military History, which are right next door to each other! Grab a coffee at the art museum’s coffee bar to enjoy as you stroll through the museum’s grounds, or stop by ChaCha boba downtown! Their dirty brown sugar tea is the best boba I have ever tried!. End the day on a high note by attending the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s eclipse themed concert at the Robinson Center downtown, followed by a delectable dinner, indulgent dessert, and fun drinks at Barnaby’s, a speakeasy located inside of George’s restaurant in Hillcrest.

Monday

Fuel up for the eclipse day ahead with breakfast at The Root Cafe, then grab some sandwiches and drinks to-go from Mylo Coffee Co, for you to enjoy once you arrive at your eclipse destination. Embark on a 20 minute drive to Pinnacle Mountain State Park to witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of the total solar eclipse (remember to arrive early- it’s expected to be crowded!), and enjoy a hike up the mountain before sunset.

As you come down from the high point of your trip, relax and enjoy the iconic southern food of BBQ at Wright’s BBQ.

With this carefully curated itinerary, you're all set to make the most of your weekend in Little Rock, blending celestial wonders with cultural delights and culinary adventures. Get ready for an unforgettable journey through our vibrant city! I hope you enjoy!
